Eintracht Frankfurt duo Younes Ebnoutalib and Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab set to be called up to the Moroccan national team – opening the door for the 2026 World Cup

Bild Eintracht Frankfurt duo Younes Ebounutalib and Ayoube Amaimoni-Echigoyabu are reportedly set to be called up to the Moroccan national team.

Both were born outside Morocco, Ebounu Talib in Frankfurt and Amaimoni-Echigoyab in Spain, but both could play for Atlas Lions through their parents.

New Morocco head coach Mohamed Wabi has named both men in his preliminary squad for the upcoming international break.

Despite these nominations, Ebnuntalib can still feature for Germany as only friendly matches will be played during the March international break. Morocco will face Ecuador and Paraguay in their final international matches before the World Cup.

If the two perform well, then they may go to the United States to represent Morocco in the 2026 World Cup.

The Frankfurt duo’s season so far:

During the winter, the two moved to the Waldstadion. Ebu Nutalib joined from Elversberger for €8 million and scored 12 goals in 17 games. The 22-year-old made two appearances for Adler, scoring on his debut before missing out through injury.

Amaimoni Echiguyabu transferred from the second team of Hoffenheim for 200,000 euros. In 3.Liga, the winger contributed 9 goals and 6 assists in 18 games. Since moving to the Bundesliga, he has made 9 appearances, scoring 2 goals and assisting 1 time.
