Egor Dëmin’s NBA rookie season ended prematurely.
The Brooklyn Nets guard and BYU product has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to “exacerbating plantar fasciitis in his left foot,” Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported Monday.
Deming has not played in a game since Feb. 27 after suffering plantar fasciitis during the preseason.

Since being selected with the eighth overall pick in last year’s NBA draft, Deming has started 45 times in 52 games for the Nets, averaging 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
Deming proved to be an impressive three-point shooter in his debut, shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, which ranked first among Brooklyn players and 51st in the NBA.
In his lone season at BYU, the Russian earned Big 12 Honorable Mention honors after averaging 10.6 points, 5.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds while helping the Cougars reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2011.
Lewis said Deming should “return to basketball activities as early as possible this offseason and fully participate in the summer development program.”
