Bayern Munich Sporting board member Max Eberl remains optimistic that Dayot Upamecano will extend his contract beyond next summer.
Asked about ongoing negotiations on Sunday, he hinted that a conclusion would be reached soon.

“I don’t know what will happen in the rest of the Advent calendar,” Eberl said in the mixed zone after Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Mainz, according to Sky Germany.
When asked if Upamecano could sign a new contract before the end of 2025, he replied:
“That would be desirable, but I can’t guarantee that.”
“Basically, I’m very confident and I’ve said it here several times. We’ve been discussing a contract extension together for weeks and months. It’s our strong desire. All the rumors are circulating. – He refused, threatened, ultimatum – It’s all nonsense. We were talking, and we were talking well.
“The eye of the needle gets smaller and smaller, and then he has to go through the eye of the needle. My wish is that he goes through it rather than over it. He will do that,” Eberl concluded.
