The NFL’s wild-card weekend is approaching, and the Eagles will host the sixth-seeded San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s wild-card game in what will likely be their only home playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field, barring something else happening in the NFC.
While the Eagles don’t play until Sunday, all eyes will be on Fox and Amazon Prime screens in Philadelphia on Saturday as key scenes unfold, with a win on Sunday potentially allowing the Jays to host the divisional playoffs on January 17 or 18.

With Carolina’s kickoff just hours away, we’re looking at a rooting guide for the Wild Card round that could put Philadelphia in the divisional round and become the host.
Division round outlook
The No. 1 seed Seahawks will face the lowest remaining seeded opponent. If the top seed wins, the Panthers will travel to Seattle and Philadelphia will travel to San Francisco. Green Bay beat Chicago, the Packers will travel to face the NFC’s No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks, and the Eagles will host the winner of the divisional round game between the Carolina Panthers (No. 4 seed) and the Los Angeles Rams (No. 5 seed).
If the Rams beat the Panthers and the Eagles beat the 49ers, Philadelphia will travel to Chicago and Seattle will host Sean McVay’s team. If the Eagles lose to San Francisco, and if Chicago beats the Packers, Seattle will host the Niners.

Rams 12-5 (No. 5 seed) @ Panthers 8-9 (No. 4 seed) 3:30 PM FOX
The two teams previously met in Carolina on November 30. Bryce Young completed 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns came on the fourth offensive, including a 43-yard go-ahead score by rookie Te’Taroyah McMillon with 6 minutes and 34 seconds left. The Carolina Panthers forced Matthew Stafford to commit three turnovers and beat Los Angeles 31-28, ending the Rams’ six-game winning streak. winning streak. A Bears win over Green Bay would qualify the Eagles to host the winner of this game. Los Angeles has a lot of offensive firepower and the Panthers just made the playoffs, and even though the Panthers are the higher seed, we’ll still be rooting for them in the game.

Packers 9-7-1 (No. 7 seed) @ Bears 11-6 (No. 2 seed) 7:00 PM Prime Video
This game was the third time the two teams met, and the home team won. While the hatred for both organizations is strong, and the Jays haven’t shied away from any opponent, the Eagles will need the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers to defeat the Bears if they want to host another playoff game. Green Bay beat Chicago, the Packers will travel to face the NFC’s No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks, and the Eagles will host the winner of the divisional round game between the Carolina Panthers (No. 4 seed) and the Los Angeles Rams (No. 5 seed).
