The emergence of true freshman running backs Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr. has limited reps for some of the Oregon Ducks’ veteran backs in the 2025 class. One of those players is redshirt junior Jay Harris, who enters this season looking to be a key contributor in his second season with the program.
In a crowded running back room, Harris carried the ball just 26 times for 116 yards and one score, and he plans to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported.

Harris began his career at Division II Northwest Missouri State University where he rushed for 1,381 yards and 23 touchdowns in 20 games and was named an Associated Press Division II All-American during his sophomore season in 2023. He then entered his name into the portal, eventually landing in Oregon.
The 6-foot-2, 224-pounder was rated a three-star prospect and the No. 24 running back when he first entered the portal and eventually became a depth piece for the Ducks, totaling 36 carries for 151 yards and two scores in two seasons in Eugene.
Harris used his redshirt during the 2024 season, which could leave him with one more season of eligibility as a redshirt senior.
