(FOX40.COM) – A Dollar General semi-truck became stuck on a single-lane gravel road for hours after the driver attempted a route that would have been impossible for a large vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred between Foresthill Road and Interstate 80 in Placer County, known as Yankee Jim’s.

“This (route) is barely passable for pickup trucks, let alone large trucks,” the CHP said.
According to the CHP, most routes with length and weight restrictions have signs warning against operating large vehicles on these routes.
“These signs are there to protect you and the public…we assure you,” the CHP said.

No injuries were reported. However, the CHP said towing fees “may not be as friendly.”
The CHP added, “If you are the driver of a commercial vehicle (or any related vehicle), please confirm the route your GPS or cell phone map provides you, especially if you are driving a larger vehicle or towing a trailer.”
