Zeka, 39, is being held on charges of “aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and discharge of a firearm while intoxicated,” which could result in life in prison, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement also reported that Zeka “used a firearm on multiple occasions in the presence of his son, practicing drawing the firearm from his waistband and dry-firing it.” The gun was “initially secured by removing the magazine and clearing live ammunition from the chamber.”
Further details revealed that the magazine was put back into the gun before Zeka “fired a shot” hitting Anthony.

“Our detectives conducted an exhaustive and thorough investigation, examining every element of what occurred through witness statements, forensic testing, subpoenas, search warrants and more,” Rambosque added.
Police officials also noted that officers who arrived at the scene “smelled the odor of alcohol on Zeka and found marijuana within sight.”
A subsequent toxicology report estimated that Zeka’s “blood alcohol level at the time of the shooting was approximately 0.116, which is above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08.”
After the shooting, Zeka was sent to a mental hospital. A family representative told TMZ One day after the incident, Zeka was “subject to observation at Detention Unit 5150,” meaning he was involuntarily detained for 72 hours after being deemed “a danger to himself, others, or a serious disability,” according to Clear Behavior Health.

The representative also told the media at the time that Zeka was being held because he was “devastated” and not because he felt guilty.
After the shooting, Dog released a statement through the media. “As a family, we are devastated by this incomprehensible and tragic accident and ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson Anthony,” Dogg and French both wrote at the time.
Zeka also closed his Instagram account after the incident. Before the account disappeared, Zeka posted photos of herself and Anthony, including one showing the two at a shooting range.
