Want to save your driver’s license on your smartphone or download an electronic copy of it instead of taking it with you everywhere? The government provides an option to save your driving license on your phone or get a soft copy of it through DigiLocker or mParivahan app. This can be handy, especially if you forget to bring a physical copy of your driver’s license. Additionally, storing your driver’s license on your smartphone helps prevent its hard copy from being lost or stolen.
In 2018, the government passed a recommendation requiring states to accept driving license and vehicle registration information stored in the DigiLocker and mParivahan apps. The move aims to eliminate the need to carry paper documents while driving.
Here’s how to save your driving license on your smartphone or download an electronic copy of it.
