Diallo and Steinbach each have career highs to lead Washington over USC 91-72

SEATTLE (AP) — Zoom Diallo scored a career-high 26 points, Hannes Steinbach had 22 points and a career-high 24 rebounds and Washington beat Southern California 91-72 on Wednesday night.

Washington took the lead for good with 12:31 left in the game. The Huskies went on a 13-0 run with 4:33 left in the game, extending the lead to 85-65 with about 2 minutes left. Diallo dunked and Nikolay Zepina capped the run with a 3-pointer.

The Huskies (15-15, 7-12 Big Ten) swept the season series at USC and have won three of their last five games. The Trojans (18-12, 7-12) have lost six straight and 11 of their last 17 games.

Diallo made 11 of 19 shots and grabbed 9 rebounds. His previous career high was 24 points against the Utah Jazz on December 29. Steinbach broke his 16-rebound streak against the Utah Jazz on February 24. He went 9-for-12 against the Trojans.

Quimari Peterson hit three three-pointers and scored 13 points for the Wizards. Wesley Yates III scored 11 points.

USC’s Alijah Arenas scored 19 points and Ezra Ausar scored 17 points. Jacob Cofie and Jordan Marsh each scored 14 points.

Next

USC will face UCLA in the regular season finale on Saturday.

Washington closes out the regular season at Oregon State on Saturday.
