“This year, I will be giving up that and pursuing a career in coaching. The memories and experiences the NFL has given me and my family are hard to describe in words. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey. It’s time for me to ‘report’ into retirement (sorry I have to do it for the last time!),” the 31-year-old tackle added.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Skipper could pursue a coaching career as the OT has a wealth of experience during his career.
Skipper entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017 from Arkansas after a rocky NFL career. He played an early role with several teams, including the Cowboys, Broncos, Patriots and Texans, before playing a major role with the Detroit Lions.

Known for his tall 6-foot-9 frame and positional versatility, Skipper developed into a reliable tackler and elite blocker.
While he rarely appears in the spotlight, his steady contributions and blue-collar style make him a trusted depth piece for Detroit. There’s no question that Skipper’s shoes could fill the Lions’ locker room.
