Deadly crash closes Las Vegas freeway ramp near Spring Mountain: Nevada police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A fatal crash on a major Las Vegas highway near Spring Mountain Road in the Central Valley closed part of the highway Friday morning, according to Nevada State Police.

Around 8:30 a.m., Nevada State Police responded to a crash on the northbound Interstate 15 onramp to Spring Mountain Road.

Police said the crash involved a Chevrolet work truck and a pedestrian. One man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, state police said. The man succumbed to his injuries about an hour later and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

NSP says the following roads are closed:

  • I-15 north to west of Spring Mountain

  • I-15 south to Spring Mountain West

  • Westbound Spring Mountain between the IR15 northbound ramp and Polaris

  • Polaris in Spring Mountain.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and are advised to use alternative routes. Police said the road closure will last approximately three to four hours.
