De Beque Canyon partially closes due to crash; several rollovers reported on I-70, highways

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – There were multiple crashes on different sections of U.S. Interstate 70 Tuesday morning, including one in De Beque Canyon.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), the first accident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. in De Beque Canyon between mile points 49 and 54. The eastbound lanes are closed.

A rollover accident occurred near the parachute. The eastbound right shoulder is closed and drivers should prepare for delays, according to CDOT.

Another crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, just before the Newcastle exit at mile marker 105. Traffic is being diverted at Silt. The road reopened just after 10 a.m., according to CDOT.

A collision also affected traffic near No Name at Interstate Mile 121. CDOT reported that some lanes had reopened around 11:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, a rollover crash on Colorado Highway 13 about 6 miles north of Rifle resulted in a partial closure of the road. The road was closed at mile 10 around 9:45 a.m. between Piceance Creek Road and JQS Road.

Another rollover crash on Highway 50 just before North River Road near Olathe closed part of the roadway. The rollover closed one southbound lane.
