The University of Dayton men’s basketball team won its third straight game in less than a week on Saturday.

Amael L’Etang had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to help Dayton beat Duke Duquesne 78-66 at UD Arena.

Javon Bennett scored 14 points and Keonte Jones scored 13 points. UD held Duke to 28 percent shooting in the second half, including 1 of 9 from 3-point range.
The Flyers improved to 18-9 overall and 9-5 in the Atlantic Ten.

Dayton led 13-5 at the start, but Duke went on a 12-4 run to tie the score at 17-17.
Both sides stayed close throughout the first half. Tarance Guinyard’s three-pointer gave Duquesne a 35-34 lead with 2:09 left before halftime.
Javon Bennett scored five straight points to put UD back in front 39-35. At halftime, L’Etang and Guinyard exchanged three-pointers to give the Flyers a 42-39 lead.

DeShane’s Montgomery alley-oop and Jordan Derkak’s 3-pointer extended Dayton’s advantage to 59-47.
Jones’ two dunks had the UD crowd cheering. His first goal gave the Flyers their largest lead at 71-55. His second goal ended the game with 2:16 left.
Dayton’s next game will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, when they host nationally ranked St. Louis. Notification time is 7 p.m.
