Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on utility player Hyeseong Kim, who has rejoined the team after being eliminated from the South Korean team.
Kim Jong-un and former Dodger Ryu Hyun-jin were part of a South Korean team that was ultimately spared by the Dominican Republic. The Dominican team dominated throughout the World Baseball Classic, showing high levels of energy and excitement, as well as big home runs.

South Korea’s performance in the quarter-finals was already impressive as a loss to Chinese Taipei left them in trouble.
King struggled in the game, reaching base twice and going 1-for-12 with his only hit a home run.

Now, after the game, King will join the Dodgers in Arizona. According to Roberts, King will appear in a split game against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.
Considering King will be traveling on Saturday and only has to fly out of Miami, he should be able to arrive before the game and get some rest before donning Dodger blue.
Kim injured in WBC fight
On March 8, Kim Jong-un injured his left hand against the Australian team in the WBC billiards tournament. He missed just one game before returning to the lineup Friday against the Dominican Republic.

He made it clear that the injury is not a long-term issue and that he will have no issues starting the MLB season.
With him back in camp, the Dodgers have a chance to check on his physical and make sure he’s indeed OK.
With Tommy Edelman recovering from ankle surgery, the lefty is competing with Miguel Rojas and Santiago Espinal for playing time at second base.
King has been a lock for a spot on the Opening Day roster, especially after an impressive performance during spring training, until he heads to the WBC.
“I found some areas for improvement,” King said of his improved spring production. “I’m just trying to work hard and make sure I’m on the roster as soon as spring training is over.”

As he begins his rookie year in the minor leagues in 2025, his own expectations are even higher after a full offseason of preparation.
