Dana White’s response to Justin Gaethje’s comments about the UFC not getting a raise following its $7.7 billion deal with Paramount might surprise you.
On Thursday’s “The Pat McAfee Show,” White was asked about Gaethje’s statement during UFC 324 media day that the promotion had not increased his pay in the pay-per-view era of Paramount+. According to White, Gaethje was paid more and the fact that he didn’t get a raise is his responsibility.

“We’re totally dialed in,” White said. “We had really smart kids who could get the paid (fighters) down to single digits, like a pay-per-view. And Gaethje, Gaethje got more money without all that stuff involved, but Gaethje never responded. We were fine.”
Gaethje has yet to respond to White’s unanswered claims. Gaethje’s agent, Ali Abdelaziz of Dominance MMA, did not immediately respond to MMA Junkie’s request for comment.
UFC 324 marks the beginning of UFC’s Paramount streaming deal and the end of pay-per-view, as numbered events are included with a Paramount+ subscription. This shift in approach resulted in the UFC having to re-sign agreements with athletes who earned pay-per-view points.

In addition, White has said on multiple occasions that fighters’ salaries and bonuses will increase, although UFC bosses have not yet been clear on when those increases will occur or how much they will increase.
