Developer CD Projekt Red announced on Wednesday that Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 will be released soon on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X platforms. It adds four new vehicles, each with additional side missions attached to obtain them. In addition, the new AutoDrive feature enables autonomous driving in the game, taking player character V to a destination of their choice. Other changes include a self-driving Delamain cab, new NPCs in photo mode, frame generation support for all major GPU brands, and other quality of life improvements. .
“Cyberpunk 2077” update 2.3 features
CD Projekt Red used a live stream to detail the new features and improvements included in Update 2.3. According to the patch notes, players will have access to four new vehicles in the game, including:
- Yaha ARV-Q340 half pill
- Renfield Caliborne “Mordred”
- Yaba ASM-R250 Muramasa
- Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
It’s worth noting that the first three can be obtained after completing the side jobs associated with them, while the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila can be purchased through the Autofixer.
Update 2.3 adds AutoDrive, allowing players to drive to a destination of their choice via autonomous driving. If they don’t choose a specific destination, the feature will take them on a leisurely drive through the streets of Night City. AutoDrive benefits from the introduction of the movie camera, which, as the name suggests, provides a cinematic view of the city while driving.
However, if the vehicle is severely damaged or is in a combat scenario, autonomous driving will automatically be disabled.
The self-driving Delamain taxi obtained by player character V after completing the “Don’t Lose Your Mind” job will now be available on demand. Players can call up a list of called vehicles and select “Delamain Cab” to request a ride. Prior to the patch, completing each job in the questline would still earn you a vehicle, but without the autopilot feature.
In Update 2.2, released in December, CD Projekt Red added the ability to customize the appearance of vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 using in-game CrystalCoat technology (previously limited to Rayfield vehicles). Update 2.3 further extends this functionality to more vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles.
In photo mode, 27 new NPCs can be spawned, including Rita Wheeler, Dum Dum, Brendan, Cassel twins and Fixers. Players can also switch between V’s saved outfits. Finally, there are more customization options for the View Camera feature.
The latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077 also includes a number of improvements for PC and consoles. On PC, AMD FSR 3.1 frame generation, Intel XeSS 2.0 and HDR10+ gaming are supported. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players get VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support on compatible TVs.
