The No. 17 seed played alongside two-time champion Gary Anderson in the fourth round and narrowly defeated Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena in the final.
Scott Anderson took a 3-1 lead in a ferociously paced match and averaged an impressive 121 points in the third set.
He missed three match darts in the fourth set, hitting a double eight on the first, needing 32, and then missed the same target twice.
Although Anderson missed more match darts in the fourth set, Vatimena fought back strongly and forced the final set.
Anderson threw eight of the nine darts in the final set and then hit a double twelve to win the set 5-3, continuing his bid to become the tournament’s oldest winner at the age of 55.

His scoring average of 102.24 is the eighth-highest scoring average in this year’s tournament, with a checkout rate of 37.5%.
“It’s not good for my age. It’s difficult, especially with Jermaine next to you. What a game,” Anderson told Sky Sports.
“The last two games, 4-0, 4-0. I hope that makes up for it. I’m going to lie down now.
“I bottled nine-darts, just like I bottled a lot of doubles. I was excited, I don’t do that out there very often. But I did it.”
Sunday’s action kicked off with 20th seed Ryan Searle defeating Germany’s Martin Schindler 4-0 to advance to the fourth round for the first time since 2021.
