We’ve tested many of BMW’s latest models, and the results have been equally impressive, even giving the controversial 2025 BMW M5 a perfect score. While its massive size and polarizing looks may continue to divide enthusiasts, we think its smile-inducing performance, comfort, and practicality make it a very attractive all-around package. At the other end of the BMW spectrum, we think entry-level cars like the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe do an excellent job of balancing premium features with attainability. Even compared to pricier models in the brand’s range, the car still makes some less-than-ideal compromises.
BMW also offers a wide range of powertrains, including conventional combustion engines, hybrids and battery electric vehicles. Fully electric models like the i4 M50 sedan will eventually be replaced by the brand’s upcoming Neue Klasse car, but until then, they remain viable alternatives to rivals. While certain models and trims will inevitably stand out as particularly good to drive, overall, the BMW remains a safe bet no matter which price range you consider in the brand’s lineup or which powertrain you prefer.
