Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey explain the importance of the portal and how fans should view it. They also look at programs like Kentucky and Penn State and discuss what fans should expect from their teams in the transfer portal. Additionally, they discuss three different ways teams can attack the transfer portal and which version works best.

Then they looked at a team whose coach was sandwiched between the CFP and the transfer portal at a rival school. Andy and Godfrey discuss the ongoing drama at the University of Mississippi and whether they want all assistant coaches to continue coaching through the CFP. Will some of them continue recruiting under Lane Kiffin at LSU instead of returning to Mississippi State? The guys discuss how while Mississippi State’s situation is unique, the concept of CFP coaches pulling double duty between game preparation and recruiting is consistent across all four playoff teams. Additionally, Andy and Godfrey examine the SEC’s poor performance in the playoffs. They discuss whether the depth of the league is overrated and how they view the future of the league.
The men then learned about Tulsa’s innovative approach to transfer portal recruiting. Tulsa launches Gateway Homes. They rented out, renovated, and housed coaches exclusively for the use of recruits. They also created their own reality show based on it. Godfrey and Andy discuss this interesting approach.
