Liverpool face Brighton in a huge game this weekend. Arne Slaughter has confirmed a star player is back and ready to play.
Liverpool will look to extend their five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League when they face Brighton on Saturday afternoon. Of course, a “five-game unbeaten run” belies an overall performance that was anything but solid.

This game first defeated the reckless West Ham United 2-0, then drew with newly promoted Sunderland at home, and then drew with newly promoted Leeds United away from home. The most eye-catching result and performance was in the midweek game against Inter Milan, where Liverpool defeated Milan 1-0 away from home.
This is certainly a huge upgrade we’ve seen recently. It also felt like something that could build on, as Liverpool got their game plan right for the first time in months.
They hope this will bring some momentum and continue their success against Brighton. A win would go a long way to turning the tide – especially with Mo Salah’s future complicating things further.
So with that in mind, Liverpool’s fitness upgrade comes at the right time.

Federico Chiesa returns
Liverpool are unable to visit Federico Chiesa in Italy due to illness. This is a blow, as Salah and Gakpo are jointly absent, and the team needs a new winger to join.
However, Chiesa is back. Arne Slaughter confirmed this in Friday’s pre-match press conference, saying Chiesa was training and should be available.
“Federico is no longer sick,” Slaughter said. “He trained yesterday and he trained again today, so I think he’s ready to be in the team again tomorrow.”
