A Houston factory will lay off 113 employees in April.
Georgia-based Janus International Group Inc. (NYSE: JBI), which makes self-storage and commercial industrial doors, removable storage units and other storage facility solutions, is initiating “massive layoffs” at its facility at 8018 Bollinger Avenue in Houston.
In a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, Janus said the company will lay off 62 permanent employees and 51 temporary employees at the site as part of the consolidation of operations.
The Houston Business Journal has reached out to Janus for more information about the merger.
The layoffs are expected to take place after April 2. The layoffs are permanent. Some of the key jobs affected include rollers, stapler felters, shaft riggers, bottom bar riggers, material handlers and rollformer operators.
The company also has a Houston location at 3950 Interwood South Parkway, which appears to focus on its Asta America brand of commercial rolling steel doors, according to the Janus website.
