The Washington Commanders wrap up the regular season with a game against the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The Eagles opted to go backup, while the Commanders were forced to field third-string quarterback Josh Johnson. The Commanders ultimately prevailed with a score of 24-17. The Commanders have a 5-12 record and are projected to have the seventh overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

During the victory, several commanders made history. First, Terry McLaurin surpassed 1,000 career receiving yards against the Eagles, becoming just the fifth player in Washington franchise history to achieve the feat.
Later, veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner reached 2,000 career tackles, becoming the third player in NFL history to achieve this feat. Ray Lewis and London Fletcher are the only other backs with 2,000 tackles.
Against the Eagles, Wagner completed five tackles, bringing his career tackle total to 2,000. Lewis finished with 2,059 points and Fletcher finished with 2,039 points.
It’s clear this season that Wagner is a step behind from his youth, but he’s still a useful player. The veteran finished the 2025 season with 162 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss.

Wagner will be 36 years old before the start of the 2026 season. It will be interesting to see if he tries to come back for another season to break the all-time tackle record. If Wagner returns in 2026, he would need 60 tackles to become the all-time leader.
