The Indianapolis Colts have announced they will not play in their Week 18 regular season finale against the Houston Texans:
There are no real surprises here, as cornerback Soos Gardner (calf) and tight end Will Mallory (lung) were already ruled out before the weekend. Given that the Colts have been eliminated from playoff contention and Gardner has been suspended for the season, he was expected to be available before last weekend’s game anyway.

Meanwhile, defensive tackles Eric Johnson II, Ruben Lowery III and safety George Oldham all appeared to be healthy heading into this one.
Finally, unretired veteran quarterback Philip Rivers will serve as the emergency third down, meaning he can be activated during games if both rookie starter Riley Leonard and recently promoted quarterback Seth Henigan are injured and unable to play.
