CNN’s Harry Enten Says JD Vance Is ‘Pulling Off Something Historic’ In Early 2028 Polling

CNN’s Harry Enten broke down Monday how Vice President J.D. Vance is “way ahead” of other potential Republican candidates ahead of the 2028 Republican presidential primary.

Vance, who has not announced a 2028 run, was the top choice among likely voters in New Hampshire’s Republican primary that year, with 51% planning to vote for him in 2028, according to an October poll from New Hampshire’s Granite State University.

Republicans trailing Vance among likely Republican voters in the New Hampshire poll are former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (9 percent) and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (8 percent).

“There’s a reason he’s been so popular on prediction markets so far, because if you win the Republican primary in New Hampshire, you’re probably going to be the Republican presidential nominee,” Vance’s Enten said.

Enten, who likened Vance to the great race car driver Mario Andretti and others on the track to go-kart drivers, highlighted that Vance is the only Republican non-incumbent president since 1980 to receive 50 percent or above in New Hampshire primary polls.

“J.D. Vance is accomplishing something historic at this time, which is a key reason why he is currently the favorite for the Republican nomination,” Enten said.

“He was way ahead of everyone else.”

Vance said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity last month that he wanted to focus on next year’s midterm elections before a possible 2028 presidential run.
