Clear Fork’s Boccio takes top honors in Division V All-District 6 awards

WILLARD — Clear Fork’s Ava Boccio is the best of the best.

Bosio led the Colts in scoring with 17.1 points per game and earned Division V, Division 6 Player of the Year honors from members of the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association. The junior helped the Colts win their first league title since 2004, when the Colts went undefeated in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference this season.

Boccio was named to the first team along with teammate Brinley Barnett (9.7 points per game), while colleague Colt Eliana Pelkey ​​(9 points per game) was named to the second team.

In Division II-III, Ontario’s Rylee Milner earned first-team honors after averaging 14 points per game for the Warriors. Madison’s Maddy Berry (12 points per game) earned second-team honors to round out Richland County’s players.

In Division IV play, Shelby’s Chloe Mahek earned first-team All-District 6 honors after averaging 16.5 points per game. Teammates Braylee Sturts (9.6 points per game) and Lexington’s Tatum Stover (10.2 points per game) finished second on the team.

In Division VI competition, Crestview’s Tori Kidney finished first on the team averaging 12.7 points per game. Mansfield Christian’s Zy’Eir Davis (12.6 points per game) was named to the second team along with teammate Brooklyn Cavaliers (13.2 points per game). Crestview’s Shelby Bay (7.5 PPG) earned an honorable mention.

In Division 7, Lucas’ Riley Trumpower was named to the District 6 first team after averaging 12.3 points per game. Plymouth’s Kendall Tolbert (10 points) and Lucas’ Katie Griffey (9.6 points) were selected to the second team.
