With the Chiefs missing the playoffs this season, Kansas City played its final game of the season in Week 18, which could be Kelce’s final game.
While Kelce has yet to make an official decision, he has considered retirement before, so it’s not crazy to think he could hang up his boots.
However, if you ask Chiefs star defensive lineman Chris Jones, he believes Kelce will be back in 2026.
“Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones believes Travis Kelce will return in 2026,” relayed Charles Goldman of AtoZ Sports.
After Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL injury a few weeks ago, Kelce referred to his team as “the Chiefs,” not “us,” when talking about Mahomes’ eventual return.

This led many to believe Kelce did plan to retire.
“He’s going to make sure he comes back stronger than ever and hopefully the Chiefs can get him back as soon as possible,” Kelce said.
If Kelce does decide to retire, he’ll have a lot on his plate.
In addition to having his own podcast and possibly landing a job as a TV analyst, Kelce is also set to marry pop superstar Taylor Swift.
It remains to be seen when Kelce will make his decision, but it could come any day.
