Then suddenly, boom! Things got crazy when Chelsea’s interest in Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenho emerged and hit the headlines.
David Ornstein revealed that Chelsea have made inquiries about Semenho and are competing to sign him.
Big-money deals don’t usually happen between Premier League clubs in January, but Semenho is an exception as he has a release clause, keeping his value at a reasonable £65 million.
It’s almost too good to be true, right? Well, yes, that’s it!

Chelsea fans were not thrilled, they knew deep down they were not going to sign Semenho, they were used to the way this new ownership operated and their incompetence.
Ben Jacobs wrote last night:
“Chelsea have decided not to pursue Antoine Semenho any further at this time.
“Have faith in the current Chelsea attackers. Still open to summer additions. Also understand there is a plan to reward players in the squad who are currently performing well.
So, Chelsea didn’t select him because they believed in their current attackers? So why were they looking for him in the first place? We don’t believe you, and it’s embarrassing to use this as a reason.

Obviously, he chose Manchester City and did not want to go to Chelsea.
Fabrizio Romano now reports that Semenho prefers Manchester City.
According to Rahman Osman of The Sun, Semenho is not interested in the Chelsea project.
This is the real reason why Chelsea did not sign Semenho.
