Chelsea have urged fans traveling to Naples for Wednesday’s Champions League match to “exercise extra caution” after two supporters required hospital treatment.
The Italian city has a long history of away fans being targeted by Napoli ultras.

A Chelsea statement said: “The club is aware of the incident in Napoli.”
“Both fans are being treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The club would like to remind all fans to take extra care when in town and to heed the advice shared ahead of this game.”
Fans on social media claimed a Chelsea supporter had been stabbed, but officials have not confirmed the cause of the injury.
Around 2,500 Chelsea supporters held tickets for the match and fans were asked to assemble in designated areas so they could be escorted by police escorts on shuttle buses to the stadium.

Chelsea said in travel advice to fans earlier this month: “Attacks against visiting fans sometimes occur in Naples during UEFA matches.”
Supporters are urged not to move around the city and avoid wearing club colors or logos that indicate they are Chelsea fans.
Liam Rosenho’s side need to win against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium to progress directly to the last 16 stage of the Champions League.
Their hosts – last season’s Serie A champions – are looking for a win to stay in the competition.
