Charles Oliveira dominates Max Holloway to capture BMF title at UFC 326 rematch

LAS VEGAS — Their first meeting a decade ago ended in just 99 seconds, leaving nothing in doubt for Charles Oliveira in the rematch.

Oliveira defeated Max Holloway via unanimous decision to win the BMF title in the main event of UFC 326: Holloway vs. Oliveira 2, the first event to be televised on CBS.

The two fan favorites first faced off in 2015 at UFC Fight Night 74 in Saskatoon, Canada. The game ended quickly. Oliveira suffered a neck injury when he fell defensively, and Holloway won by TKO in the first round.

Ten years later, now in the lightweight division, the fighters meet again and the stakes are much higher.

Oliveira, known as “Do Bronx,” took control of the fight early. He opened the fight with leg kicks and outlasted Holloway in the first round and controlled much of the fight. The BJJ specialist continued to control the tempo throughout the fight, using a mix of elbows, ground control and submission attempts to neutralize Holloway’s offense.

After five rounds, the judges unanimously decided that Oliveira won with the same score of 50-45 and became the new BMF champion.

questionable bet

The lightweight showdown between Michael Johnson and Drew Dober has bettors paying attention ahead of the scheduled fight.

Johnson entered boxing week as a slim -120 underdog, but ended up as a +150 underdog on fight night, sparking speculation online about unusual line movement.

Dober eventually emerged victorious in the second round, knocking the veteran unconscious with a one-two combination for a decisive victory.

Rodriguez’s revenge

It only took one punch for Gregory “RoboCop” Rodriguez to settle unfinished business with fellow Brazilian Bruno Ferreira.

Rodriguez was knocked out in the first round, avenging a loss in 2023 when Ferreira stopped him early in his last fight.
