The Chargers have finally found Navarro Bowman’s replacement as their linebackers coach.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Bolts are hiring former Steelers, Titans and Colts linebacker Sean Spence to fill the position following Bowman’s departure in order to spend more time with his family, including his son, a high school basketball prospect. Spence spent the past three seasons at Western Michigan, where he most recently coached their pass rushers.
Spence will follow new Chargers defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary to Los Angeles, who helped turn the Broncos’ defense into one of the best in the country by the 2025 season. Spence personally coached Western Michigan pass rusher Nadame Tucker, who finished the year with a nation-leading 14.5 sacks, earned first-team All-MAC honors and was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Tucker was also invited to compete in this year’s Panini Senior Bowl to compete against the top senior talent in the country.
