Chad Baker-Mazara hits 5 3s, scores 29; USC beats Wisconsin 73-71

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Chad Baker-Mazzara scored 29 points with five 3-pointers, Ezra Osar added 17 points and USC beat Wisconsin 73-71 on Sunday, snapping the Badgers’ five-game winning streak.

Jacob Cofie had 11 rebounds and added nine points and five assists for USC (15-5, 4-5 Big Ten).

Nick Boyd hit a 3-pointer, two free throws and a layup to spark a 17-2 run that gave the Badgers a 58-46 lead with 12 minutes left, but the Badgers made just 4 of 16 shots the rest of the way. Baker-Mazara went on a 16-2 offensive run over the next seven-plus minutes, scoring nine points (including the final seven points) to take a two-point lead with 4:54 left in the game.

John Blackwell hit two free throws with 3:13 left to tie the game at 65, but Ausar scored consecutively, Baker-Mazara scored in the paint, and Jerry Easter II hit two free throws with 2 seconds left to tie the game at 4 points.

Boyd made 10 of 17 shots from the field and 8 of 9 free throws to lead Wisconsin (14-6, 6-3) with 29 points. Nolan Winter scored 12 points and Blackwell scored 11 points.

The Badgers shot 34 percent overall (23 of 67) and 9 of 37 (24 percent) from beyond the arc.
