Carson Wallace is also joining the trend of one of his former basketball homes paying tribute to him. The 22-year-old had his No. 22 high school jersey retired at Richardson High School in Texas.
That’s where Wallace became a five-star recruit. He eventually decided to join the University of Kentucky and become a complete college player. The Thunder selected him with the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He helped the Thunder become an instant championship contender in three seasons.
Wallace is one of the Thunder’s best defensive players. He is competing for the steals title this season. He averaged 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 42.4% from the field. He took 3.8 three-pointers and shot 34.8% from the field. He averaged two steals per game.
The Thunder win the NBA championship in 2025. Wallace played a key role in their journey as a role player. Considering he will be eligible for an extension this upcoming offseason, the Thunder are expected to sign him to a new contract to keep him around for the remainder of this competitive window.
