Cagliari pushing for Atalanta midfielder Brescianini

Cagliari coach Guido Angelozzi is an admirer of Atalanta’s Marco Bresciannini and has been pushing for the midfielder’s signing since early December.

Cagliari are expected to have a busy January transfer window, with the possibility of signing a player in each department.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter have confirmed to me that Cagliari are very interested in the Italian, who Angelozzi considers to be one of the most modern midfielders in Serie A.

The Cagliari boss knows Brescianini well, having crossed paths with the 25-year-old at Frosinone in the 2023-24 season. Angelozzi has been pushing for an agreement for weeks, but Atalanta has yet to make a decision on the player’s future.

However, Bresciannini is likely to leave Bergamo in January as two or three other Serie A clubs have already sounded out the club’s availability.

Cagliari will try to beat their rivals and add another quality Italian player to their squad.

There will be new updates soon, but for now the first transfer belongs to Atalanta.
