SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Markus Burton had 18 points and a career-high 10 assists and Cole Certa scored 14 points, including a late 3-pointer, to help Notre Dame beat previously undefeated Missouri 76-71 in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Tuesday night.
With 17 seconds left in the game, Celta hit a three-pointer and Notre Dame led 72-69. Missouri’s Jacob Crewe followed with a 3-pointer at the other end and Burton hit a pair of free throws to give the Irish a 74-69 lead with 6 seconds left. Braeden Shrewsberry hit two free throws to end the game for Notre Dame (6-3).

The Irish shot 50% (12-of-24) in the second half, helping them overcome a 40-33 halftime deficit. Burton and Serta each scored 11 points in the second half. Shrewsbury finished with 11 points. Of the Irish’s 11 long-range shots, four were scored by Celta and three by Shrewsbury.
Mark Mitchell scored 26 points to lead Missouri (8-1). Cruz hit 5 three-pointers and scored 22 points. The Tigers shot 54% (15-of-28) in the first half, but only 35% (9-of-26) in the second half.
This is the first meeting between the two teams since Missouri won 87-58 on November 21, 2011. The Tigers lead the series 7-3.
