The NFL loves nothing more than celebrating itself. For example, they turned something as mundane as releasing next season’s schedule into an entire prime-time event in the middle of the offseason. However, certain parts of the schedule had too many logistics to wait until May, so the league announced its expansion efforts to other countries around the world before the league year began.
The NFL is expanding their international schedule, and it looks like the Dallas Cowboys are finally getting in on the festivities. Their destination? CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones says it’s clearly Brazil.
The NFL plans to hold nine games abroad during the 2026 season, with games planned in Mexico City, London, Madrid, Melbourne, Munich, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. This will be the third consecutive year the league will hold games in Brazil, where the Eagles and Packers will begin the 2024 season and the Chiefs and Chargers will begin the 2025 season.

Both games are in Sao Paulo, but the Cowboys will play at Maracanã Stadium. This is the year the National League goes international, with teams with nine home games being selected first to compete. The league will announce teams’ opponents and game weeks later this spring.
However, with the Cowboys’ list of home opponents already well known, there are only a handful of possible teams.
The Cowboys could face one of three NFC East opponents: the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants or Washington Commanders. They also have home games scheduled against Arizona State and San Francisco, but the 49ers are already scheduled to face the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, so there’s a good chance they’ll be out.
The Cowboys are also scheduled to play at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, London’s annual host.

The Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are possible opponents.
