Bruins rally to beat Blues 5-2 with two goals each from Kastelic and Minten

British stone. LOUIS (AP) — Mark Castelic and Frazier Minten each scored two goals and the Boston Bruins rallied to beat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Pavel Zacha had an empty-net goal and David Pastrnak had two assists in his first game since Nov. 16 after missing five games with injury. Sean Kuraly also had two assists for the Bruins, who won their third straight game and second against the Blues in the last five days.

Jeremy Swayman made 24 saves.

Robert Thomas scored twice for the Blues and Joel Hofer made 26 saves.

At 8:01 of the third period, Castelic received a bouncing puck in the Blues penalty area and put the ball into the net to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. Three minutes later, Minten scored another goal without an assist.

Thomas’ power-play goal gave the Blues the lead with 5:27 left in the first quarter.

Boston got on Hofer early in the second period, with a shot from Morgan Giecki hitting the crossbar and Castelic hitting the right post.

Boston scored two goals in 1 minute and 44 seconds of the second quarter to overturn a 0-1 deficit.

Minten tied the game for Boston with 7:12 left, and with 5:26 left in the second period, Kastelic took a slap shot from Victor Soderstrom and hit Hofer to make it 2-1 against the Bruins.

Thomas tied the score at 4:51 of the third quarter. Pavel Buchnevich created the chance when he intercepted a pass from Andrew Peeke in the back of the Boston net and passed the ball to Thomas, who was alone in front.

Thomas has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past eight games.

Geekie’s five-game winning streak was broken.
