Broncos officially announce blockbuster trade with Dolphins

It’s official: Jalen Waddle is a Bronco.

Waddle’s trade from the Miami Dolphins to the Denver Broncos was confirmed by the team after passing a physical on Wednesday. Denver agreed to trade a first-round (No. 30), third-round (No. 94) and fourth-round (No. 130) pick to Miami in exchange for Waddle and a fourth-round pick (No. 111).

The Broncos no longer have a first-round pick in this year’s NFL draft, but they still have seven. Denver will inherit the remaining three years of Waddle’s contract, which includes a team-friendly salary cap hit of $4.9 million in 2026. The Broncos still have cap space available, so more moves could be on the way.

Waddle totaled 64 catches for 910 yards and six touchdowns last season, joining Denver’s extremely crowded wide receiver depth chart. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Broncos listen to trade offers at receiver now, just like they did with DeVaughn Wheeler in the 2025 offseason.
