The Denver Broncos have interviewed Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry for the offensive coordinator position, according to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post. Gabriel noted that Broncos passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Davis Webb has been prominent in the search, but as of now, he’s still in the running for the Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job.
Curry, 46, played in the NFL from 2002 to 2009, spending most of his career as a wide receiver with the Raiders and briefly with the Lions and Rams. He joined the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff as an offensive assistant in 2014 and will serve in that role through the 2015 season. In 2016, he joined Sean Payton’s staff in New Orleans as an offensive assistant and remained in that position until 2017. In 2018, he was promoted to wide receivers coach, and then in 2021, he became the Saints’ quarterbacks coach. In 2022, he would add the title of passing game coordinator while remaining quarterbacks coach, but this would ultimately be his final season with the Saints. In 2024, he joined the Buffalo Bills as quarterbacks coach and remained in that position until the 2025 season.

As such, Curry has a long history with head coach Sean Payton and even interviewed for the Broncos’ offensive coordinator position as early as 2023. Those connections are always important, and most recently, Curry became the position coach for Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the reigning MVP. So, his record speaks for itself.
He’s familiar with Sean Payton and how he operates, knows his system, and is likely someone he trusts. He would also add a different voice to the room, some fresh ideas and context that could benefit Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.
While Davis Webber remains the favorite for the offensive coordinator job, if he doesn’t become the Raiders’ head coach, Curry appears to be a strong candidate to potentially join the team anyway. With the Bills hiring Joe Brady as head coach, there could be some coaching changes and Curry could leave to pursue other opportunities.
