This is not the first meeting between Inter Milan and Bode/Glimt. The two clubs had previously met in the last 16 of the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1978/79, when the Norwegian made their debut at the San Siro. It turned out to be a one-sided affair. Dumfries opened the scoring after withstanding early pressure from Belgium, followed by Lautaro’s brilliant strike just before half-time. Calhanoglu took a penalty kick in the second half, and Esposito scored the first goal of the Champions League, winning 4-0. Inter Milan has won three games in three games and kept a clean sheet for the third time under Chivu.
Inter Milan 2-1 Kairat Almaty Inter Milan beat Kairat Almaty to make it four wins in four Champions League games. Lautaro opened the scoring late in the first half in a tricky match at San Siro. The visitors equalized in the second half, but Carlos Augusto’s first Champions League goal sealed the three points for Chivu’s side.
Atletico Madrid 2-1 Inter Milan
At the Metropolitano Stadium, Inter Milan lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the fifth round of the Champions League. After a VAR review, Julian Alvarez broke the deadlock in the 9th minute. In the second half, the Nerazzurri took advantage early and equalized through Zielinski, but Gimenez sealed the victory with a header from a corner kick in the 93rd minute.

Inter Milan 0-1 Liverpool
Inter Milan narrowly defeated Liverpool at the San Siro in the 6th round of the league. The Nerazzurri played well, created chances and held their own in a tough physical battle. But amid protests, Szozboszlai awarded a penalty kick in the 88th minute, helping Liverpool take all three points.
Inter Milan 1-3 Arsenal Inter Milan lost 1-3 to Arsenal at San Siro and have 12 points. After Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring, Susic responded with a brilliant strike but England regained the lead from a corner. Despite pressure and chances in the final seconds, Arsenal sealed victory through Joe Kreis’s counterattack.
Dortmund 0-2 Inter Milan
Chivu’s Inter Milan beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on an exciting night at the Westfalenstadion. DiMarco opened the scoring with a wonderful free kick that went over the wall and into Kerber’s net. Diouf sealed the win with another goal thanks to a determined individual effort and a deflected shot. Inter Milan ended the league stage in tenth place and advanced to the knockout rounds as a seeded team.

Qualifying for the 2025/26 Champions League is a historic milestone for Bode/Glimt – a feat that would have seemed unthinkable just a few years ago, when the club was on the verge of collapse. In 2020, Norway won their first Elite League title, a feat they repeated three times in 2024. In the recently concluded season, they finished second, just one point behind the champion Vikings. Bodø/Glimt have also made a strong impression on the European scene in recent years. Their season started with a 2-2 away draw with Slavia Prague, followed by a 2-2 home draw with group favorites Tottenham Hotspur. Then they encountered some setbacks: Istanbul lost to Galatasaray 1-3, Monaco lost 0-1 at home, and Juventus lost 2-3 at home.
Despite these challenges, Bodø/Glimt remained resilient and completed this phase strong. They drew 2-2 away with Dortmund and then had two major wins: a 3-1 home victory over Manchester City and a 2-1 away victory over Atletico Madrid. These results highlight the team’s growth and confirm the Norwegian’s ability to compete with Europe’s top clubs, making their journey one of the most surprising and impressive in the tournament.
