It hasn’t been the easiest season for Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley. Those struggles continued Tuesday with a 90-78 loss to TCU.
Early in the second half, a sideline scuffle between the two teams resulted in Hurley being knocked to the ground. The fun started when traps by Arizona State’s Andrea Gerbovich and Bryce Ford forced a timeout, and the two continued to get physical with TCU’s Brockie Harding after the end.

After the shoving began, players, coaches and staff from both teams rushed toward the Sun Devils’ sideline, where Hull used his body to push Horned Frogs center Vianney Sarajom down. TCU head coach Jamie Dixon then intervened and Hurley appeared to fall after tripping on someone’s foot.
No one was ejected as a result of the incident, and Hurley did not appear to be injured as a result of the fall.
Regardless, it’s another bad day for a coach widely considered to be in trouble as March approaches. Tuesday’s loss marked Arizona State’s second straight loss, following a 73-68 loss to Baylor on Saturday.

The Sun Devils are currently 5-10 in Big 12 play, tied for 12th in the league. They also finished 15th last year with a 4-16 record.
Hurley directly admitted that he “failed” to reach out to his team last month and that his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, making it easy for ASU to move on if it wanted to.
