Nahshon Wright had an unforgettable November. The Chicago Bears cornerback has been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this year, and the league is sure to honor him for his recent performance. Wright was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November with five turnovers in five games.
The Bears went 5-0 in November and Wright was a key factor in their success. He intercepted Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco in the final seconds to secure a wild victory and caught a fumble from New York Giants quarterback Jaxon Dart in the second half to turn the tide of another comeback win. Wright had two outstanding interceptions in back-to-back weeks against Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, and he also forced a fumble from Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to stop opposing offenses.

Wright’s five takeaways were the most by an NFL player in November since Bengals defensive back Reggie Nelson in 2015, according to Chicago Bears senior writer Larry Mayer. That’s the most by any Bears player in any month since Brian Urlacher in 2007.
Wright signed a one-year contract with the Bears this offseason and competed for the depth position throughout training camp. He stood out quickly and was thrust into the starting lineup due to injury. Wright didn’t look back as he tied with Carolina Panthers standout Jaycee Horn for the most interceptions among all cornerbacks with five. He also had three fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown and was instrumental in the Bears’ 9-3 record heading into Week 14 atop the NFC.
This is the first time a Bears player has earned Defensive Player of the Month honors since Robert Quinn in 2021.
