Barcelona’s last game of 2025 will be against Villarreal, one of La Liga’s most in-form teams at the moment, at the Estadio Ceramica later today.
The Yellow Submarine currently sit third in the league table, which is well deserved as they have lost just two of their 15 games so far this season.

However, in this game, Villarreal suffered two consecutive defeats in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, which gave Barcelona favorable conditions for a third defeat.
Striker’s record
As kick-off at the Ceramics approaches, it’s impossible to ignore Robert Lewandowski’s statistics over the years at this famous venue, as he always takes home gold against them.
The Polish forward has made three appearances at this stadium, the first time in the 2022-23 season, when he assisted Pedri for the only goal of Barcelona’s victory.

A year later, Barcelona defeated Villarreal 4-3. Lewandowski scored in the 71st minute to complete the comeback and bury the victory.
In September last year, when the two teams last met at the Ceramic Stadium, the veteran scored twice in the 20th and 35th minutes, and hit the door frame with a penalty kick in the 67th minute.
All in all, Lewandowski’s record is three goals and one assist in three away games against Villarreal, all of which ended in wins.
At the same time, it must be noted that he has not become a regular starter this season, with Ferran Torres often replacing him.
It will therefore be interesting to see if Flick prioritizes the player’s record against Villarreal in order to start him later today.
