Barcelona: The outcasts take back control
Barcelona: An outcast turns the tables
Long relegated to the sidelines and often criticized, Ronald Araújo responded resoundingly as FC Barcelona beat Albacete in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. In a game that was far more intense than expected, the Uruguayan defender showed his authority and became one of the key figures in Barcelona’s qualifying campaign.

Araujo was rock solid in confrontations, decisive from set-pieces and sealed Barcelona’s victory with an unstoppable header – a fitting symbol of a superb performance.
“I hugged Flick because he was great for me. He was like a father to us,” he added.
Hansi Flick echoed the same sentiment, delighted with his players’ resurgence:
“This goal will help him regain his confidence and feel better.”
Araujo, 26, appears to have turned a period of doubt into the starting point of a real renaissance.
