Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen youngster Christian Cofane.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich will not be in the race for Kofane this summer. The Bavarians are focused on extending Harry Kane’s contract beyond 2027.

Leverkusen are pushing to sell the Cameroon international for around €60 million to €70 million, with the Premier League likely to be his next destination.
Arsenal are monitoring the situation for Kofane, who is enjoying a breakthrough season at Bayer Leverkusen.
The 19-year-old joined the Black and Reds from Spanish side Albacete last summer. Although he is not a regular in the starting XI, he has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in all competitions.
Kofane also performed well at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring two goals in four games. He became Cameroon’s youngest goalscorer in the competition after Eto’o.

He is calm in front of goal, has strong ball control ability, can cooperate with his teammates, and likes to shoot from long range.
Despite Leverkusen losing 3-1 on aggregate, Coffane took his chance in the Champions League last 16 and impressed Arsenal boss Mike Arteta.
Arsenal signed Piero Hincapi from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and hope to use that relationship to secure Coffane’s signing.
Mikel Arteta’s side are likely to make some changes to their attacking staff this summer amid uncertainty over the futures of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.
The changes could pave the way for Cofane and another striker to be signed.
