Aaron Brewer is about to be replaced after about 10 seasons as captain of the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are signing former New York Giants tight end Casey Kreiter, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. The report did not specify the length of the contract.
Kreiter is 35 years old and has played 10 NFL seasons. He has played the last six games for the Giants. The Cardinals’ new special teams coordinator is Michael Ghobrial, who served as the Giants’ special teams coordinator before this season.

Clayter spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos. He was a Pro Bowler in 2018.
The Cardinals aren’t getting any younger. Clete is a month younger than him. Brewer will turn 36 in July. Crete’s birthday is in August.
That could mean Brewer is preparing to return from the NFL after 14 NFL seasons, or it could mean Gobrier wants to bring in a familiar face, someone who understands his skills and coaching.
The Cardinals’ three specialists are mostly the same. Punter Blake Gillikin and kicker Chad Ryland agreed to one-year deals to return, so they’ll have to work on building a rapport with Kreit.
