Arizona Cardinals rank in top 10 of NFL in offseason assets

The Arizona Cardinals are preparing for offseason free agency and the NFL Draft. The same goes for the rest of the NFL Draft.

The offseason is dominated by two things – cap space and draft capital.

NFL.com researcher Zak Koeppel ranked all 32 teams based on a combination of cap space and draft picks.

Where do the Cardinals rank?

They came in sixth place.

This offseason will be a pivotal one for Arizona. The Cardinals have major roster decisions to make as they begin the Mike LaFleur era. The most important question is what to do with quarterback Kyler Murray, whose 2027 base salary of $19.5 million becomes fully guaranteed on March 15. As such, the date marks the unofficial deadline for teams to make a decision on Murray, who has been Arizona’s go-to guy since the No. 1 overall pick in 2019.

The Cardinals have some assets to leverage this offseason, most notably the third overall pick in the draft. They’ll be paired with nearly $40 million in cap space, although a full rebuild could be on the horizon given the state of the roster and the loaded status of the NFC West.

They are behind the Los Angeles Rams, who have two first-round picks, and ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, even with the cap space and draft picks, how they handle the quarterback position will determine the success or failure of the entire season and their future.

However, at least they are in a good position to make some of the necessary changes to turn things around.
