CNN Michael Smerconish On Saturday, he couldn’t believe his eyes as he read fan tweets live on air.
“from [Rhode Island],” Smerconish began to read. “You’re making things too complicated. The rule should be, if you run from the police – what? Are you kidding me?
He continued, “If you run from the police, you get shot. That should be the standard? Of course – put the camera on me!”
Smokonish repeated the tweet again.
“Of course you’re kidding. Of course you — ‘If you run from the police, you’re going to be shot,'” he said. “Is this the world you want to live in?”
Smokonish continued, “By the way, I’m a shoplifter. I’m a – I don’t know – a car thief, I’m a pickpocket artist, and the police show up on the scene, and I run away. And you want me to be shot without any regard for grievous bodily harm or death? No, that’s… There’s a country for you, and it’s behind the Iron Curtain. It’s probably a place where they’re going to chop your hands off. Well, that’s crazy.”
Vice President JD Vance The federal agent who fatally shot a 37-year-old Minneapolis mother claimed Thursday that Renee Goodeprotected by “absolute immunity”.
“There is a federal law enforcement officer involved in a federal law enforcement operation — this is a federal issue,” Vance said. “He’s protected by absolute immunity. He’s doing his job.”
