But there was no dispute about the outcome of the sixth round, when Joshua knocked down his opponent for the fourth and final time, leaving an exhausted Paul kneeling in the corner of the ring.
Paul, 28, had exceeded the referee’s count three times before but failed to do so this time as he was counted out and defeated for the second time in his career. Meanwhile, Joshua, 36, bounced back from a stoppage loss to Daniel Dubois with a victory at the Kasea Center in 2024.
Still, it took some time for Joshua to produce a knockout or any meaningful offense. Paul spent much of the early rounds dodging the Brit in a larger-than-usual ring while “AJ” struggled to pin the American down.

As the fight wore on, boos rained down and Paul kept diving at Joshua’s legs, perhaps to avoid injury and buy time.
But in what was scheduled to be an eight-round fight, Joshua finally began to trap, hurt and drop Paul, forcing the fight to end to the delight of fans.
