Anthony Edwards scores 34, Timberwolves beat the Trail Blazers 124-121

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 34 points and hit five 3-pointers to help the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Portland Trail Blazers 124-121 on Tuesday night for their fourth win in the last five games.

Jaden McDaniels contributed 27 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocks for the Timberwolves.

Donte DiVincenzo scored 19 points and hit 5 three-pointers, Julius Randle had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Rudy Gobert scored just 10 points but grabbed 19 rebounds and changed the game defensively.

Jrue Holiday led the Trail Blazers with 22 points. Jerami Grant scored 18 points and Donovan Klingan had 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Scott Henderson came off the bench to score 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

It was a tense, physical, back-and-forth game that featured 15 lead changes, but the Timberwolves’ 3-point shooting (17 of 35) was enough to hold off the Trail Blazers, who shot 14 of 35 from 3-point range.
