The band may not reunite for the Kansas City Chiefs. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that he has been discussing a return with tight end Travis Kelce but is unsure about the health of wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
“There’s communication,” Reed said of Kelce’s condition. “That’s the most important thing. I’ve said it before: As long as there’s communication, I’m good. That means people want to move forward. I think that’s the case with Travis.”

While Reid has spoken with Kelce about returning for his 14th season with the Chiefs, he said he has not yet spoken with Hill about reuniting with the team.
“I don’t even know if Tyrik is healthy enough to do anything right now,” Reed said. “So I’m sure he’s working on that part and trying to figure it all out. Listen, we talk about everything. Nothing happened there, but we know he’s working hard out there trying to get himself back to a place where he can play, period.”
Hill last played for the Chiefs in 2021 before being traded to the Miami Dolphins the following season. The 31-year-old wide receiver was waived by the Dolphins on Monday after four seasons with the team. Hill is recovering from a dislocated kneecap and torn ACL that ended his season in Week 4.
Hill responded on Twitter after the Chiefs hired offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy in January. Hill spent his career under Bieniemy. In the 2018-21 season, Hill averaged 85.8 catches, 1,213.5 receiving yards and 10.8 touchdowns per game.
Reid also told reporters that quarterback Patrick Mahomes is doing well in his recovery process. Mahomes is recovering from a season-ending ACL and LCL tear in his left knee in Week 15.
